PLEASE NOTE:
We are erasing your computers this summer and the only data that will
be kept on your personal "Y" Drive! This data can ONLY
be seen by YOU and YOU ONLY!
You can also access the data that you put on your "Y" Drive
from anywhere you log on at, in the school.
Here is how you use your "Y" drive:
Go to My Computer on your desktop
- Double Click on your "Y" Drive (Teachers name$ Y:\)
- Once inside your "Y" drive you will see the following folders:
"Downloads", "My Documents", "My Pictures",
"Favorites" and "My Email".
- Once again, you only have access to your Y drive and NO ONE else can
see your data.
- We are going to teach you how to copy only your "My Documents"
folder for now.
- You can use your "Y" drive for anything you would like.
It is yours to do with as you wish.
- Minimize everything and go to your desktop. On it you will see your
"My Documents" folder. Double click on it.
- Inside of that folder, you will need to click once on any file at
all. Then push the keys Crtl-A (at the same time) to select all the
files. Then push Crtl-C (at the same time) to copy them to your clipboard.
- Go back to your "Y" Drive and click inside the blank space
inside the folder and push Crtl-V (at the same time) to paste your files
into that folder. Depending on the size of your files it might take
some time.
- YOU ARE DONE!
Note:
Please notify the NOC if you would like to save your emails and or your
